TechBase Platforms Unit is seeking a Tech Lead/ Senior Software Engineer.

Role Overview:
We are looking for an inspiring Tech Lead to join the Digital Engine Platform Team, a strategic team at the heart of our organization’s technological evolution. This is not just a coding role — you will define the vision of the platform, lead and motivate senior engineers, and act as a key partner in shaping the team’s roadmap. Your ability to gain trust, manage conflicts gracefully, and communicate effectively will be critical to success.
As a Tech Lead, you will play a hybrid role — combining deep technical expertise with team leadership and lightweight product ownership responsibilities. You will help define and prioritize the team’s initiatives in alignment with the Engineering Manager, ensuring our work directly supports the platform’s vision and organizational goals.
This role is for someone who thrives on taking ownership, uniting a team behind a clear direction, and translating strategic goals into actionable delivery. You’ll play a key role in enhancing our internal development experience and improving platform capabilities that serve engineering teams company-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Ownership
• Define and drive the platform’s technical vision in alignment with organizational priorities.
• Inspire, support, and motivate a team of senior engineers, encouraging a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Champion platform improvements, ensuring development teams follow clear and sustainable “paved road” paths.
• Act as a trusted partner to the Engineering Manager to shape and refine the roadmap.
• Take ownership of technical direction, ensuring clarity of purpose and alignment across team members.
• Fulfill light product ownership responsibilities, such as backlog grooming.
• Identify risks and blockers early, proactively raise issues and propose effective solutions.
• Facilitate open and constructive conflict resolution; build trust through empathy, consistency, and clarity.
Technical Excellence
• Investigate, test, and implement innovative tools and software to expand platform capabilities.
• Maintain and propose improvements to the platform guidelines, ensuring a well-paved road for development.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and operational counterparts to assess new strategies, architectures, and technologies to support rapidly evolving needs and maximize development efficiency.
• Elevate the platform team to a higher scrum/agile level and continuously improve personal skills.
• Communicate the paved road to other teams, offering support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience in a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or equivalent senior-level role.
• Strong technical foundation, including: Microservice architecture and API design., Python expertise and familiarity with other ecosystems (e.g., JavaScript, Golang, Rust, Java), Unix/Linux environments, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring and observability solutions
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience guiding cross-functional teams and delivering impactful solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence decisions across functions.
• Excellent soft skills: approachable, empathetic, emotionally intelligent.
• Excellent communication skills in English; able to explain complex topics simply and effectively.
• Self-motivated, independent, and accountable — able to manage multiple priorities without losing focus.
• Product thinking mindset; ability to balance short-term wins with long-term platform strategy.
• AWS knowledge and certifications are a plus.
• Understanding of security and compliance practices is a plus.
