Our international client is undertaking a significant modernisation program of its existing IT systems and architecture and rapidly moving towards a cloud-based IT solution. This includes a significant redesign of their legacy applications using the latest principles in software delivery. Additionally, the infrastructure to support the modern platform is being overhauled to align with the future vision and values of the organisation.

Are you an experienced technical lead and Linux systems architect, able to manage a team?

Linux Technical Lead / Architect with these skills and experiences:

24 x 7 availability during change windows
AIX system management (HACMP/POWER HA))
Linux HA clustering
SEAL PKI certificate management (Infoclient )
Put in place methods and structures that allow for accepting and resolving incidents within the defined SLAs, and to receive, acknowledge and perform ad-hoc tasks assigned to the Unix/Linux operating systems.
Experience of Elasticsearch (ELK stack) and Splunk.
Performance and capacity monitoring for all hosts (bare metal and VMs) servicing the Kubernetes platform and cloud-native applications.
Performance analysis and tuning of applications and systems.
Analysis and design of new sub-systems.
Kernel dump Analysis
OpenLDAP design and management
Backup and restore data using Tivoli TSM backup software.
Apache and Tomcat management
MySQL DB2 and MongoDB (manage and update)
Knowledge of software such as SAP, Java, and StoneBranch UAC agents
Resource provisioning and reconfiguration: Deploy, reconfigure, expand, decommission, update and upgrade servers, systems, and components.
Monitoring platform health using the existing monitoring tools.

Common requirements:
Agile scrum experience
Experience working in a large/enterprise environment.
Jira incident and change management experience.
Monitoring (Nagios) and responding to incidents and user requests (Escalation procedures)
Able to assist with and manage hardware incidents and upgrades and perform root cause analysis.
Flexible and Responsive and able to work alone and within large virtual teams.
Able to support and assist application developers and application owners.
Experience working with physical and virtual servers (VMware)
Perform regular system updates and system patching.
Server security management and incident handling
Document any relevant information about systems and applications gained.
Transfer of knowledge to our client’s internal staff or other Contractors as and when requested by client.
Support monitoring teams in alarms troubleshooting and escalation to suppliers.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the client.
Able to create and manage Bash scripts.
On board for service or decommission any further UNIX / LINUX requested versions or flavours (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, etc…)
